The shrine is dedicated to Sree Muthappan, whose tradition is associated with two aspects: Thiruvappana, connected with Lord Vishnu, and Vellattam, connected with Lord Shiva. These devotional forms are deeply woven into the living ritual traditions of North Kerala.

For generations, Theyyam has been more than a performance: it is a powerful expression of belief, artistic skill, community memory and sacred identity.
